This logo was created for a clinical genomic project targeting severe childhood diseases at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital. The project, funded by a grant from the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative, leverages research and clinical expertise to uncover novel gene variants that cause childhood disorders, with the goal of identifying new treatments for pediatric patients.

This is one of a series of Twitter graphics I created to promote presentations by the Human Genome Sequencing Center at the 2023 American Society of Human Genetics Annual Meeting. This series was one of the most widely retweeted and liked set of tweets during the conference. The Adobe InDesign template enabled the quick creation of the flyers with simply a table of information and a collection of portraits. Combined with scheduled tweets, this campaign demonstrated an easily scalable method of online promotion.

I based this hackathon flyer off the cover of an old science fiction periodical, Science Wonder Stories. The layout for the title of the hackathon comes from the magazine's nameplate design. Most of the font selections were inspired by magazines from the 1920s.

For the 2022 hackathon, I went with comic inspired artwork and fonts. The images were gathered from several stock art files -- a giant robot attacking a city, computer keys, coronavirus illustrations -- and color shifted to work with the theme.

For the 2024 Structural Variations Hackathon, I decided to go with a cat-based theme -- partly as a tribute to my cat Sandy, who passed at the start of the summer, and partly because I simply like cats.
The main image is AI-generated, although it needed a fair amount of cleanup to look presentable.
